Overview

Flux is a family of image generation models from Black Forest Labs (BFL). The 2026 flagship is FLUX.2, which extends the FLUX.1 architecture with multi-reference conditioning across up to 10 reference images, coherent 4-megapixel generation and editing, and unified editing inside a single model. On both photorealism and prompt following it sits at the frontier alongside Midjourney and Google's Nano Banana Pro.

Key Features

Multi-reference conditioning

FLUX.2 can pull in up to 10 reference images and preserve the same character, layout and style across generations — a meaningful advantage for comics, ad campaigns and other jobs that need consistency.

Open-weight + commercial endpoints

FLUX.2 ships in multiple variants (Pro / Flex / Dev / Klein 4B). Pro and Flex are proprietary hosted endpoints; Dev is an open-weight download that requires a commercial license from BFL for commercial use.

High-resolution and improved text

4MP generation and editing, meaningfully better text rendering and stronger fine detail make FLUX.2 credible for commercial photo work.
