Preparation
- ChatGPT paid plan (agent mode) or an agent subscription like Manus (check official pricing)
- Trip premises: note number of people, dates, budget, desired conditions
- About an hour of leeway (time to watch the agent execute)
Steps (For ChatGPT Agent Mode)
1. Instruct ChatGPT in Agent Mode
A family of 4 (2 adults, 2 elementary kids) travels June 14-16. Budget 150k yen, departing Tokyo, 2 nights 3 days. Hot-spring inn, kid-friendly place preferred. Research the following and compile results in a table: 1) 3 recommended areas (with reasons) 2) 3 recommended inns per area (price, features, review score) 3) Transport (train) travel time and fare 4) 2-3 spot ideas to drop by each day
2. The Agent Launches the Browser
The agent searches Google and tours Jalan, Rakuten Travel, regional tourism sites. You can watch the play-by-play on the right.
3. Receive Interim Reports
Reports come at milestones like "3 area candidates ready." Add instructions like "deeper into area A" if needed.
4. Receive the Result
A tabular result returns. You can additionally ask "also check a specific inn's availability."
5. Book It Yourself
Once an inn you like is decided, do only the booking yourself. Letting the agent book makes cancellation hard if there's a mistake.

Tips for Asking
- State constraints first: budget, people, dates, non-negotiables
- Specify the result form: "in a table," "as bullets," "3 options"
- Dig in stages: "3 options → the one of interest → details"
- Failure behavior: "if no info, write 'unknown'"
Common Troubles
- Stops at site login: instruct to skip membership sites
- Old prices: displayed price may not be latest, confirm at final booking
- Thin kid info: specify a source like "from kid-trip blogs"
- Takes time: 15-30 min is normal. Narrow scope to shorten
