Have AI "Pre-Read" Long Contracts
Insurance certificates, lease contracts, and terms of service are long and technical. Having AI do key-point extraction and surfacing unfavorable clauses drastically cuts oversights.
Checking an Insurance Certificate
Paste the certificate text (certificate number/name hidden) and ask:
Summarize this insurance's "coverage, exclusions, renewal conditions, surrender value" as bullets, and point out cautions the holder easily overlooks and coverage that seems to overlap with other insurance.
Contract Check Lenses
- Cancellation conditions: penalties, notice period, auto-renewal presence
- Where responsibility lies: who bears it on failure/damage
- Unfavorable special clauses: unilaterally changeable clauses, excessive late penalties
- Term and renewal: until when and how it renews
Usable Question Templates
- "List clauses where I could be disadvantaged by importance"
- "Rephrase jargon in words a middle-schooler understands"
- "Make 5 questions to confirm with the counterpart before signing"
Understand the Limits
- AI's points are only pre-reading. Get final confirmation from an expert (FP/lawyer) for major contracts
- Personal info/counterpart info should be masked before pasting
- Even if AI says "no problem," clause interpretation is situation-dependent. Don't swallow it
Still, its value is advancing you from "don't know what to ask" to "can negotiate with the issues in hand."
